GUM CARE IN BAKERSFIELD

Healthy gums support every tooth.

We evaluate bleeding, inflammation, buildup and bone support, then recommend the level of care appropriate for your gum health.

PERIODONTAL HEALTH

Look beneath the surface.

Gum disease can begin with inflammation around the teeth and progress to loss of the bone that supports them. Measurements, X-rays when appropriate and the pattern of buildup help us understand the condition.

Care may include routine cleaning, scaling and root planing, focused home-care changes or periodontal maintenance. We explain why a particular level is recommended and how it will be monitored.

WHAT WE CONSIDER

Appropriate treatment begins with the diagnosis.

The final recommendation depends on your examination, history, priorities and the rest of your oral health.

01

Bleeding or tenderness

Inflamed gums may bleed during brushing, flossing or professional evaluation.

02

Buildup below the gumline

Tartar below the gumline cannot be removed with brushing alone.

03

Bone support

Measurements and appropriate images help us monitor the foundation around each tooth.

04

Long-term maintenance

Consistent professional care and home cleaning work together to control risk.

WHAT TO EXPECT

A straightforward, well-explained process.

You will know what we are evaluating, what we recommend and what comes next.

01

Measure and assess

We review tissues, pocket depths, buildup, mobility and available bone information.

02

Complete the appropriate care

Treatment is matched to whether the concern is surface inflammation or deeper periodontal involvement.

03

Reevaluate and maintain

Follow-up shows how tissues responded and helps establish the right maintenance interval.

These answers are general. Your examination determines which recommendations apply to you.

Call (661) 831-0800
Why do my gums bleed?+

Bleeding is often related to inflammation, but the cause and severity should be evaluated. It is not something to ignore simply because it is common.

What is a deep cleaning?+

Scaling and root planing removes deposits from below the gumline and smooths root surfaces in areas affected by periodontal disease. It is different from a routine cleaning.

Will I always need periodontal maintenance?+

After active periodontal treatment, ongoing maintenance is commonly recommended to control the condition. The interval depends on response, risk and home care.
